Complete set of 50 medals, each is 45mm in diameter. Bronze, Sterling, and Gold-Plated Sterling versions were produced. The set was issued from 1973-1977.
To mark its founding, the Royal Air Force Museum commissioned this collection of 50 medals featuring 50 of the significant events in the history of manned flight. Each medal is hallmarked by the London Assay Office, and is serially numbered. Each set was bound in two albums bound in leather and linen.
